In the corners of the learning and psychosocial support units of Al-Manal Association, smiles blossom like flowers in a long-awaited spring. Despite all the war, displacement, and pain that Gaza’s children have endured, their laughter returns as they take part in educational and psychological activities that carry them from the harshness of reality to the warmth of safety.

Among colors, letters, and stories, children create a new world pulsing with life. They learn and play, speak about their feelings and paint them, rediscover themselves, and find in these units a safe space that restores a piece of childhood stolen by crises.

In every corner lies a small story: a smiling face, a child who eagerly awaits their learning day, and a mother who feels reassured knowing her son is in an environment that listens to him, embraces him, and gives him the chance to simply be… a child.

What makes this project — implemented by Al-Manal Association with the support of the American Friends Service Committee (AFSC) — so special is not only its educational and psychological content, but also the positive energy it spreads in children’s hearts. Every day, the educational team witnesses tangible transformations in the children’s behavior and engagement, along with pure moments of joy that pulse amid all the rubble.

Here, in the heart of suffering, seeds of hope are sprouting. Here, children learn that life is still possible, and that there are people who believe in them and strive to empower them.
