In a scene that reflects resilience and the will to live, Al-Manal Association for the Development of Rural Women, with funding from the American Friends Service Committee (AFSC), launched the project “Learning and Psychosocial Recovery Units,” targeting children aged 6–12 years in the Gaza Strip, reaffirming their right to education, care, and safety.
The project was launched with the participation of 300 boys and girls, who joined a safe and stimulating learning environment specially designed to support them psychologically and socially, while enhancing their educational and behavioral skills in light of the hardships they endured due to war and displacement.
Through a team of specialized facilitators, daily interactive activities are carried out to meet the children’s needs, combining learning, creativity, and psychosocial relief, with the aim of contributing to building a resilient generation capable of moving forward despite all challenges.
What makes this project unique is not only its content but also the positive engagement shown by children and their parents from the very first day. Signs of improvement and active participation have already begun to appear, reinforcing our belief in the importance of such programs in restoring what war has destroyed.
The association believes that every child has the right to an environment that upholds their dignity, nurtures their abilities, and provides them with a genuine opportunity to thrive. This project is just one step on that path, towards a brighter future for our children.
