Visit of the Saudi Center for Culture and Development Delegation to Al-Manal Association: Discussing Displacement Issues and Launching a Water Desalination Initiative at the Shelter Camp
As part of strengthening humanitarian and relief cooperation, Al-Manal Association for the Development of Rural Women received a high-level delegation from the Saudi Center for Culture and Development at its headquarters in the Central Governorate. The delegation was headed by media professional Dr. Essam Abu Khalil, where several pressing issues facing the displaced population in Gaza were discussed, especially in light of the difficult humanitarian conditions resulting from the war.
The session addressed the association’s role in providing humanitarian aid to displaced persons—including food and hygiene parcels—in cooperation with several local and international institutions, in an effort to alleviate the daily suffering of hundreds of families.
During the meeting, the previously signed agreement between both parties was also discussed, aiming to build a strategic partnership between the Saudi Center for Culture and Development and Al-Manal Association to serve their shared humanitarian objectives.
The association presented a vital project during the meeting: the installation of a water desalination plant within the association’s shelter camp, in partnership with the Saudi Center, aiming to provide clean and drinkable water for displaced individuals—especially given the severe water scarcity and the damaged water infrastructure in the area, which has further worsened the living conditions of the population.
Mr. Mahmoud Fouad Musabeh, Chairman of the Board of Al-Manal Association, welcomed the Saudi delegation and praised the center’s continuous efforts and various initiatives in support of the displaced in Gaza, affirming that this partnership reflects a shared humanitarian mission and united purpose between both sides.
Mr. Musabeh also expressed the association’s full readiness to provide all necessary facilities and logistics to operate the desalination plant, ensuring the sustainable supply of clean water to displaced persons in the camps surrounding the association.
This cooperation comes as part of the distinctive initiatives launched by the association in partnership with the Saudi Center for Culture and Development, with the aim of standing with the Palestinian people in these challenging times and alleviating their suffering through all possible means.
