Learning and Psychosocial Support… Restoring Life to Children from Beneath the Rubble
During the month of July, Al-Manal Association for Rural Women’s Development implemented activities under the project “Learning and Psychosocial Support for Children Affected by War,” aiming to restore safety and smiles to children through a flexible and supportive educational and psychological environment.
Key Educational Activities Implemented:
Role-playing of Arabic and English letters
“Letter Hunt” activity focusing on letters and diacritical marks
Activities exploring parts of speech
Practice with nominal and verbal sentences, as well as sound masculine and feminine plurals
Identifying even and odd numbers
Introduction to geometric shapes
Color and number activities
English greetings practice (Greetings)
Key Psychosocial Support Activities:
Exploring the “map of emotions” and understanding the inner world
Identifying and distinguishing between emotions
How to manage my emotions
Safely expressing feelings (fear – reassurance)
Drawing as a way to express emotions
Grief and healing: embracing pain for comfort
Anger management and mindful self-regulation
Building and strengthening team spirit
The activities were carried out under the supervision of a specialized team of teachers and facilitators, in a safe environment that respects the children’s psychological privacy and offers space for learning and recovery.
This project is a vital step toward reclaiming lost childhoods and enhancing children’s ability to adapt, express themselves, and learn amid crises.
