Al-Manal Association for Rural Women Development, in partnership with the Network of Non-Governmental Organizations (PNGO), successfully concluded its distinguished initiative “Recovery for Hope”, which aimed to provide psychosocial support and alternative education to the displaced in displacement camps in the Deir al-Balah area. The initiative came within the framework of ongoing efforts to provide a safe and supportive environment for communities affected by crises, through the implementation of a set of vital activities that contribute to improving the lives of displaced individuals and families.

The initiative was launched with the aim of enhancing the local community’s ability to deal with the challenges of crises, as three introductory workshops were organized to introduce the initiative’s objectives and attract the target group. In addition, 10 volunteers were trained in the fields of psychosocial support and alternative education, with the aim of building their capacities and enabling them to provide support to affected communities.

One of the most prominent activities implemented within the framework of the initiative was providing alternative education to 50 children in basic subjects such as Arabic, mathematics, science, and English, who were unable to attend schools. Awareness workshops were also organized for children and their mothers on the psychological effects of crises, and how to deal with psychological and social challenges under the current circumstances.

The initiative also witnessed the implementation of an innovative field project, where the children themselves organized a campaign under the title “Promoting Hygiene Behavior within the Camp”, reflecting their effective interaction in the community and their responsibility for positive change.

Al-Manal Association for the Development of Rural Women stressed the importance of continuing support for affected communities, noting that the initiative has successfully achieved its goals, and the organization will continue to provide similar services focusing on education and psychological support to help families overcome the effects of ongoing crises.
