A Delegation from the General Union of Palestinian Farmers and Agricultural Cooperatives Visits Al-Manal Association for Rural Women’s Development to Strengthen Cooperation and Support Marginalized Groups

As part of ongoing efforts to enhance collaboration and networking among national institutions, Al-Manal Association for the Development of Rural Women hosted a delegation from the General Union of Palestinian Farmers and Agricultural Cooperatives. The visit aimed to discuss the latest developments affecting farmers and explore ways to support marginalized segments, particularly in light of the mounting challenges facing rural areas in the Gaza Strip.

The visiting delegation was led by Mr. Abdel Sattar Shaath, Deputy Secretary-General and Head of the Southern Governorates Office in the Union, accompanied by Mr. Khalil Ahmad Abu Samra, Secretary of the Farmers’ Mobilization Office, along with several members of the General Secretariat and branch heads.

The delegation was received by Mr. Mahmoud Musbah, President of Al-Manal Association, along with his deputy on the Board of Directors, Mr. Adel Al-Belbisi. Both parties emphasized the importance of unifying and complementing efforts to empower farmers and improve their living conditions, with special attention given to women working in the agricultural sector.

During the meeting, the two sides reviewed the current economic and humanitarian situation and discussed mechanisms for providing the necessary support to farmers and marginalized groups in rural areas. They stressed the need to intensify cooperation to meet basic needs and strengthen resilience in the face of ongoing challenges.

This visit is part of a series of coordination meetings aimed at building effective strategic partnerships that contribute to the development of the agricultural sector and enhance the ability of the most affected groups in society to cope with crises.
