Middle Area Governorate –

As part of efforts to strengthen cooperation between civil and governmental organizations, Al-Manal Association for the Empowerment of Rural Women welcomed Wasif Abu Mshaikh, Head of the Palestinian Popular Committee for Refugees in Al-Maghazi Camp. He was welcomed by Mahmoud Abu Musbah, the Executive Director of Al-Manal Association. The visit aimed to reinforce collaboration with the Refugee Affairs Department to ensure continued support for refugees amid the dire humanitarian conditions in the Gaza Strip.

In a statement, Mahmoud Abu Musbah emphasized that the substantial support provided by Dr. Ahmad Abu Holi, Head of the Refugee Affairs Department at the Palestine Liberation Organization, has played a vital role in enabling the Association to sustain its humanitarian services for the refugee community. He confirmed that the Department has consistently supported institutions dedicated to assisting refugees and displaced people, noting that such support has been the main factor in the Association’s ability to continue its work during these challenging times. He stated, “Thanks to this ongoing collaboration, we have been able to meet the needs of a broad segment of refugees and displaced families.”

Abu Musbah pointed out that the project funded by the Refugee Affairs Department has significantly enhanced the Association’s capacity and expanded the scope of its services, contributing to improved living conditions for both refugees and displaced people. He added that the provision of solar energy at the Association has created a more conducive working environment, which has facilitated the hosting of major supporting institutions that offer vital aid to refugees.

For his part, Wasif Abu Mshaikh praised the continued cooperation between the popular committees and civil society organizations in delivering support to refugees. He stated, “Since the beginning of the war on Gaza, Dr. Ahmad Abu Holi has shown a special interest in addressing the needs of refugees. His directives have laid the foundation for coordinated efforts among civil institutions, which has enabled effective support for the refugee community.”

Abu Mshaikh, the head of the Popular Committee for Refugees in Al-Maghazi Camp, highlighted that coordination among various parties — including civil organizations and the Popular Committee for Refugees — has played a significant role in improving the humanitarian situation for refugees. He said: “Since the beginning of the war on Gaza, there has been special attention from Dr. Ahmad Abu Holi to meeting the needs of the refugees.

Abu Mshaikh also highlighted that coordination among various parties — including civil organizations and the Popular Committee for Refugees in Al-Maghazi Camp — has played a significant role in improving the humanitarian situation for refugees. He stressed that this cooperation stands as a living model of joint action between the governmental and civil sectors in times of crisis, ensuring the fulfillment of refugees’ needs. He also expressed gratitude for the outstanding efforts made by Al-Manal Association, calling on all local organizations to follow its example in strengthening collaboration and providing support.

This visit reflects the ongoing and integrated efforts between Al-Manal Association and the popular committees in Al-Maghazi Camp, as well as the prominent role played by the Refugee Affairs Department in supporting the refugee community. These efforts underscore the importance of solidarity and cooperation among all parties to ensure a dignified life for refugees amid the exceptional circumstances facing the Gaza Strip.
